Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter continues to grow and the announcement in the last few days reiterates the importance of the area and its proposed redevelopment.
The news that more than a million sq ft of laboratory and workspace will be created in the next 15 years is wonderful news for a city that has often struggled to see the same increases in employments growth in comparison to the likes of Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. The news comes as part of KQ Liverpool’s “2040” vision which plans to offer a “range of inclusive innovation opportunities and inspire future generations”.
The exciting news comes on the back of a long list of announcements and new developments including two new office/ laboratory buildings, HEMISPHERE One and HEMISPHERE Two which are in addition to the previously built 155,000sq ft The Spine office building. The news also follows the announcement of a proposed new Merseyrail station down the road at Baltic Triangle.
Colin Sinclair, chief executive of KQ Liverpool, said: “The foundation of our success to date has been the strength of our partnership, exceeding expectations by challenging the norm and refusing to accept anything average or ordinary”.
“Going forward, our 2040 vision amplifies that ambition. As a partnership, we will do everything in our power to make this place and people’s lives better.”
