Kings Dock plans refused

Despite bieng recommended for approval Carpenter Investments latest plans to provide 216 apartments for their site at Kings Dock Street were yesterday refused by Liverpool’s planning committee.

A lack of affordable housing and concerns over Section 106 agreements resulted in a unanimous refusal for the developers proposals. This was despite the developer producing a viability report that highlighted the lower levels of profitability as it would be operated as a Built to Rent scheme.

Our MD Alan Bevan has given his view on the refusal in a LinkedIn post that rightly asks the question as to what this refusal will do for the reputation of the city as a place thats “open for business”.
