Liverpool best UK food city

Whilst it is no surprise to those who live or work here, Liverpool has just been named as the UK’s best city for food by the renowned Time Out. It is not the first time we have won this accolade and this year we topped the charts ahead of the likes of London, Brighton and Manchester.

The award was based upon a survey by Time Out which focused on various factors including the quality, range and affordability of food served in each location. The survey resulted in an amazing 84% of respondents rating the quality of the restaurants in the city, whilst an impressive 68% of respondents said that the food offering in the city was affordable, no mean feat in a world where inflation has hugely increased restaurant prices. The survey also revealed Liverpool’s the joint most ‘family-friendly.

Whilst we are all immensely proud to have once again topped the “food charts” the fact that we nearly made the world’s top twenty was just as impressive and will no doubt act as an extra incentive for visitors from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world to visit the city. New Orleans was voted No 1 in the world and we are sure none of us world argue with that accolade!!

Whilst we have always has a vast array of eateries in the city the arrival of the likes of Nord has further enhanced the food scene. Time Out’s Alice Porter described the city as ‘the most exciting city for food in the UK right now’. One of Liverpool’s long-standing favourites Maray continued to top the charts for it’s Middle Eastern inspired small plates.
