Floating padel coming to Liverpool

Amazing news for keen padel players like many of us at City Residential is the announcement this morning that Peel are to submit a proposal for new padel courts at Princes Dock, Liverpool. The proposals are in conjunction with Ville Leisti the founder/ceo of Floating Padel Oy, Bluet Floating Solutions and Cheshire based Padel Ventures.

The plans include a facility which will sit within Princes Dock at Liverpool Waters featuring three floating padel courts built on a special floating padel platform from Finland, with the courts themselves manufactured in Spain. The proposals also include a new floating clubhouse in which a bar and kitchen will offer further facilities to players and spectators.

Padel has become one of the world’s fastest growing sports but despite it’s growing popularity in the UK there are still less than 1,000 courts available to players. If plans are approved the facility will no doubt prove extremely popular with both residents and workers in the city, particularly in the Princes Dock/Liverpool waters vicinity. It also comes on the back of the success of Wyld Sauna opening their wellness facility in the dock last year. It will also increase the attractiveness of apartments in the area for sale and to let such as Alexandra Tower, Princes Dock and Park/Quay Central at Liverpool Waters.

Plans for the destination at Liverpool Waters will be submitted to Liverpool City Council this week, Peel said, with a decision expected this spring ahead of an anticipated opening date in late summer.
