70 storey tower for Liverpool skyline

Not content with having just achieved planning for the first 28 storey tower in The Kings development developers Davos Property Developments and Beetham Davos have chosen MIPIM to announce their most ambitious part of the project a 70 storey tower. Designed by world renowned architects SimpsonHaugh, the building will include a five-star hotel and luxury residences, all of which will be managed by the hotel operator.

The proposals form part of the recently branded Kings development (formerly known as King Edward Triangle) and promises to transform this area between Liverpool Business District and Liverpool Waters into one of the most iconic and important new city centre locations. The masterplan proposes multiple residential towers, circa 150,000 of offices, 160,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and food and beverage, and around 350/400 hotel rooms.

Hugh Frost, chairman of Beetham Davos, said: “This will be the scheme’s signature building and is the ultimate expression of our confidence in Liverpool and the council’s backing for our ambition.”

Brock Carmichael is the masterplan architect for Kings, with Pegasus Group providing planning, economics, heritage and EIA services and Planit leading on public realm design.
