Docklands residential scheme announced

A redundant Liverpool docklands site looks like making progress after Liverpool developer Romal Capital confirmed news that the are teaming up with Maro to bring forward a multi-million pound residential development on Liverpool waterfront.

The site at Brunswick Quay is located in the southern waterfront area of the city and has been owned by Maro for over 20 years. In 2007 Maro tried to obtain planning for a 50 storey tower but eventually settled for a more straightforward 552 unit scheme which obtained planning in 2020.

The JV has have now unveiled their latest vision which is for a slightly increased total of 562 units including a new market across the four buildings on the site. It is hoped that as part of the application that public access to the site and the adjoining dock/marina areas will be vastly improved and provide cycle links and walkways connecting to the dockside pedestrian paths that run adjacent to the sote.

Romal has been one of Liverpool’s more active residential developers having already completed three blocks in Liverpool Waters namely Park Central, Quay Central and West Waterloo Dock.
