New park for old hospital site

A stunning green space in the heart of Liverpool City Centre has been announced on the site of the former Royal Liverpool hospital. The proposals come from the team that were involved in the Eden Project in Cornwall who are partnering with The NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group.

The proposed nature park will transform the brownfield site allowing access for both pedestrians and cyclists together with areas for relaxation for locals, workers, hospital residents and visitors. The park will compliment the rest of the masterplan for the site which sits in the emerging Knowledge Quarter area of the city and adjacent to the new Royal Liverpool hospital/Liverpool Clatterbridge Hospital.

The team behind the project will include BAM UK & Ireland and the Eden Project, together with design consultants, Ellis Williams Architects, BCA Landscape, Sutcliffe and Hoare Lea.
