The ongoing expansion of the city centre to the north continued this week with the approval of Jaron Development’s Metalworks scheme by Liverpool City Council’s planning committee. The 16 storey scheme on the corner of Leeds Street/Vauxhall Road is an important, high profile site which has remained vacant after previous proposals failed to materialise.
The £110m Falconer Chester Hall designed scheme will bring forward a total of 401 properties comprising 396 apartments and 5 houses. The apartments will be split with 177 one bedroom apartments and 218 two bedroom apartments. There development will also offer ground floor commercial unit (likely use as a restaurant), a gym, cinema room, workspace and residents lounge. One of the most unique aspects of the proposed development is the rooftop running track which winds it’s away around the adjoining communal garden areas.
The scheme will compliment Legacie’s recently stated The Gateway project which will offer 656 apartments and is now progressing well. It is likely the the scheme will offer the apartments to let as a Build to Rent development rather than as apartments for sale in the local market.
After many years of false hope and disappointment the Pumpfields area of Liverpool (as it has become known) is progressing at a fast rate and will offer a range of apartments to let in Liverpool. Liverpool City Council have realised the huge potential of the area by announcing proposals to build as many as 10,000 homes in the area (and further north) over the coming years.
Will Clarke, development director at Jarron Developments, said: “This location is the perfect setting for the Metalworks development, which will be a landmark project for the city. It will provide exceptional living standards, with unmatched access to work, leisure, and transport options.
