1,000 AI jobs coming to Liverpool

The government has announced today that potentially 1,000 AI (artificial intelligence) jobs are set be created in Liverpool. The announcement comes from the AI Opportunities Action Plan which aims to “transform the lives of working people”, revolutionising the UK’s public services and putting more money in people’s pockets. Three companies are involved in the project Kyndryl, Nscale and Vantage who are all committing a total.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: “Artificial Intelligence will drive incredible change in our country. From teachers personalising lessons, to supporting small businesses with their record-keeping, to speeding up planning applications, it has the potential to transform the lives of working people.

The news will be welcomed in Liverpool especially given the city’s strength in the digital sector and desire to attract new jobs to the city. The residential market in the city will also benefit from the news leading to further demand for properties to buy and let at a time the market continues to strengthen as a place to live, work and play.
